In Betweeners

Several of us enjoyed a great meal at Cedar River Seafood in Cairo, GA this past Friday evening. About 35 of us were in a very small back room but had a wonderful time of fellowship and tasting what each other ordered! Take a look at the picture to see what fun we all had together.

Pastor Appreciation

Every year we celebrate Pastor Appreciation day at Rose City. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful Pastor and First Lady leading us. They sacrafice and give so much of their time that it is just natural for our congregation to give back to them. This year on Sunday, April 26th at 6:30 pm in concert will be RUSS TAFF singer, songwriter. Russ may be familiar to you through the Gaither Homecoming Series and Gaither Vocal Band. He has several songs that have ministered to us through the years such as: "Trumpet of Jesus", "Praise the Lord", and "We Will Stand." For more information about this great evening, please call Trish at 229-225-7235. Come join us for a spirit filled night of worship in song!

Homecoming

We invite you to our church homecoming on Sunday, March 29, 2009 starting at 10:oo am. Bring a friend and enjoy a wonderful worship service with food and fellowship to follow! Hope to see you there.

Winter Revival

We had a wonderful revival in January with Quint Shepherd. The Shepherds also ministered in song each night. We hope to have all of them back again soon! Thanks for coming ya'll!

End of VBS '06

Vacation Bible School ended with our usual pie in the face on Friday. Girls brought in the most money this year so the boys had to have someone represent them by getting pied!

The culprit for the boys was Robert Simmons and for the girls was Tracie Page. With the boys losing, Tracie loved having the chance to pie Robert. Robert was a very good sport and took it all in stride. He did however come back and get Tracie in the end. I will be putting a great picture of that up later.

I could not leave our VBS Director out of the pie smearing though so here is a great shot of Ann with pie in her face!

It was a great VBS year at Rose City Church of God. Nicole, Brandon, Billy and myself played kickball and dodge ball with the kids until it got to dark and then the teens had a lock-in.

Teens

These pictures speak for themselves!

Kathy and Dominique's Class

This class has the most kids in it so Kathy had to have the kids do their craft in our Big Bear Lodge! They are working on decorating a picture frame this week to take home on Friday!

Nicole and Leah's Class

The kids are learning their song "Speak Up...Shout it Out"! They were doing a great job as you can see in the picture. They trapped Nicole in the raft too I see.

Tracie, Shirley & Becky's Class

Becky had a wonderful idea for a craft! They had "Dirt Cake" it smelled so good in their class that everyone wanted to go in and taste their treat!

Sheilia & Catherine's Class

Who wouldn't love this group!

Kitchen Workers

Vacation Bible School would not be complete with out our wonder Kitchen Staff. These ladies make sure everyone has enough to eat each night and cleans up afterwards. Thanks Ladies, Great Job!

VBS Director

My mom, Ann, has been the director of Vacation Bible School for several years now. She does a great job. Here she is with one of her many babies ~ Dana.

Glacier Pass

If you like the cold mountains in Alaska Dominique and Kathy's class is the place for you to come visit. They have create a "cold" atmosphere in their room with a white and blue look that makes you think of skiing and snow. Their animals in the room fit right in with their furry looks. They have the most kids in their class so far too! This class must be the hang out for kid who have completed 3rd and 4th grade!

Arctic Edge Camp

Kids that have completed 1st and 2nd grade are enjoying this outdoor scene that Nicole and Leah have created for the. Using a raft tubes and trees surrounding the room, they give their kids the idean that they are on a camping adventure. Nicole also had a great idea of making the Northern Lights by painting a sheet of paper and putting Christmas lights behind it!

Kindergarten Island

If you like the water you will love what Tracie, Shirley and Becky have done for their class. Tracie's main idea was to create a room with the whale tail you see in the picture. Her vision really came out in her decorations and the kids are loving it!

3, 4 & 5 year old Bear Lodge Class

Welcome to Sheila and Catherine's Class! I love the way they have decorated this class. When you walk into it you feel like you are in Heaven. The clouds on the wall and the soft colors are a real calming effect on the kids.

Big Bear Lodge Pre-Teen Class

This is our Big Bear Lodge. We meet here before we go to class and then this becomes our Pre-Teen cabin. I am teaching in this class along with Lana, Lori and Kim.
